New piece that makes me think of the convergence of old and new. Of course like all my work, I leave the interpretation up to you.
New piece!
I started this as a a rough sketch last year and decided to bring it to a finish. In all of these newer works there is some visual narrative happening but I assure you there isn’t a clear story, just the one that is open to your interpretation. The only specific intent I have is to convey feeling or presence and the hope that something in these will connect with you.
I don’t know when Hip-Hop was actually born, and I doubt anyone really does but I’m glad it was. I could make an entire book of images like this one based on countless stories of the culture. Here’s a small slice from the element of it that remains untamed.

New collaborative piece with artist and long time friend Jessico Serrano. I like the loose confidence of his work so it motivated me to focus more on expressive mark-making. I look forward to bringing what I learned from this to new work.
